ANNOUNCEMENT: Circles of Rhythm is currently taking a pause from hosting the Friday Night Drum Circles. They continue weekly, every Friday 7-9pm at the Inglewood Community Hall, thanks to a vibrant volunteer team supported by YYC Drum Circles and the Inglewood Community Association. (No Drumming in the Park this year.) For details, contact YYC Drum Circles.

Calgary's drum circle pioneers since 1997
You found us. Circles of Rhythm has been at the heart of Calgary’s drum circle community since 1997. Here’s what we offer and how to get involved.
There is a moment that happens in every drum circle – somewhere around the third beat – when strangers stop counting and start listening to each other. The room changes. Something loosens.
Circles of Rhythm has been creating that moment in Calgary for over 27 years. We started as a small community experiment and grew into one of Canada’s most recognized Integrated Community Drum Circle programs – bringing people together in hospitals, boardrooms, community halls, and open parks, from intimate groups of 15 to gatherings of 3,000.
No drumming experience required. Drums are always provided.
For years, Circles of Rhythm hosted a weekly public drum circle in Calgary – first at Inglewood Community Hall through the winter months, then outdoors at the Weaselhead in North Glenmore Park through the summer. Hundreds of Calgarians found their rhythm there. Some came once; many came every week for years.
The Friday Night Drum Circle is currently on pause. The tradition lives on in spirit through the community and volunteers that grew from it.

The most effective team-building experiences don’t feel like training. They feel like play – until you look up and realize something shifted. That’s the ICDC difference.
Our corporate drum circles are used by organizations across Calgary and Alberta to break down silos, rebuild trust after change, and reconnect people to why they do the work they do. Every session is professionally facilitated. No experience required.
Not every drum circle fits the same box. We’ve brought rhythm to conferences, festivals, charity galas, cultural celebrations, and private milestones – events from 20 to 3,000 people.
If you have something in mind and aren’t sure what shape it takes, that’s exactly where we start. Tell us what you’re building and we’ll figure out what fits.
Circles of Rhythm has trained 355+ ICDC facilitators across Canada since 2018 – teachers, therapists, recreational leaders, and healthcare workers who wanted to bring the power of rhythm to their communities.
Our flagship 3-Day ICDC Facilitator Training gives you the tools, the technique, and the methodology. The 1-Day Gentle Drumming training is available as a standalone entry point.
Training is delivered by Julien Lepage – Master ICDC Facilitator, Registered Social Worker, and one of Canada’s most experienced rhythm-based practitioners.

“I feel safe, welcomed and happy here, thank you for this warm and supportive place to come every week.”
